DC ADVOCACY TRIP | ART DIRECTION | EVENT DESIGN | PRINT & DIGITAL DESIGN
In March 2018, Beautycounter took 100 women, two from each of the 50 states, to Washington D.C. to lobby for better beauty laws. (Did you know that the U.S. has not passed a major federal law governing the cosmetics industry since 1938?) While the main goal of this trip was to meet with members of Congress (we set up over 100 meetings in just one day!) we also wanted our Consultants who came on the trip to feel special and appreciated for all the hard work it took to get them there.
I managed the creative for this trip, starting with the initial announcements through to designing a bus to transport us around D.C. and menus for evening events.
I even lead a group of Consultants from South Carolina, North Dakota and Wisconsin to meetings with their elected officials. To say that this was a life-changing experience would be an understatement, it was so incredible to see the power that each of us as everyday citizens can hold when we use our voice.
That’s me, feeling energized after a day of participating in democracy and blissful that the event had come together successfully. Was also very excited about this newspaper wall featuring some of Beautycounter’s best press that I designed for our evening event at the Newseum. :)
